Everywhere except for menus it will. The menus for some reason google didn't make accessible. I've heard that in ICS they are accessible by touch to explore.

Most likely, you will need to use your physical d-pad. The virtual d-pad does not work in Menus, in the status bar, and in a few other places, like Settings. It also sometimes does not behave the same way as the physical d-pad. For example, when I'm using the stock messaging app, I can type a contact's name in the To edit field and down-arrow from there. If I down-arrow with the physical arrows, I get a list of matches for the contact name (e.g. the home phone, mobile phone, etc.) for me to choose from, but if I down-arrow with the virtual d-pad I simply go to the edit field. This is a bad thing because the messaging app assigns numeric equivalents to the letters of the name, so your message will not arrive to it's destination.
