I would rather wait a while, read comments from people who buy them, and then
decide whether to make a purchase. I've read positive reviews of the Nexus 4
already however. (The reviewers obviously obtain demonstration units prior to
the product's release to the public).
These phones run "unmodified" android, i.e., obtained directly from Google
rather than as customized by a hardware manufacturer. This might well be
better from the perspective of accessibility. The updates are supplied by
Google as well rather than by a phone manufacturer or a carrier, and thus
become available sooner. Again, this is advantageous from an access
standpoint, since improvements in this area are to be expected in subsequent
versions of the operating system, including major and minor releases.

Yes, it sold out very fast in the United States also, for an unlocked phone it's priced very well.

Actually, none of the nexus phones have had keyboards. The nexus one had a trackball for navigation, but all typing is done on the touch screen. Hopefully with the nexus 4 there will be none of the nonsense of different versions of the software the way there was on the galaxy nexus. I'm not talking about the verizon or sprint version, but with the galaxy nexus, there was a version that got the updates very fast because the updates were provided by google. There was another version where samsung provided the updates so it took much longer. I have no idea what google and samsung were thinking regarding this.
