Isn't this the same group that pulled the open source switcharoo
license on Ext-JS a couple of years back? What's to stop them from
doing the same on Connect once it gains traction?

Ext-JS started with the same intentions. As the community around it
grew and helped make it a great product, the licensed changed (if i
remember correctly) BSD -> LGPL -> GPL3. They say one thing "[we
changed]" yet Ext-JS remains under the GPL3. Nothing has changed. The
thread is deceptive, to say the least.

I work for Sencha now and I trust them when they say that wont happen. We
want to help build the community with good OSS.

Epic stuff some of the articles, haha: http://www.google.com/search?q=extjs+licensing
Everybody was really emotional about it. Biggest licensing fuck up
ever.

Btw recently somebody seems to be cleaning up wikipedia, lol:

I trust Sencha has learned from all this and I really love Express.js,
Connect, Raphael, jQTouch etc. so I'm giving them a second change!
Sencha has attracted some really talented people recently.
