Well, it has finally happened. After a bit more than forty years with the company, the time has come for me to hang up my logic analyzer and retire. It is time.
It has been a great four decades, primarily due to the wonderful people I've had the honor to work with, many of whom I've known for most of those years. I can't imagine any other place having so many truly talented, fun, and just nice people to work with. That's the aspect of my career that I'll hold near to my heart and miss in this the next phase of life.

I started my career the very first day HP started moving into the new Lake Stevens building and have been here (in Lake Stevens and Everett) ever since. I think I was blessed getting into one of the best companies, and in my opinion, one of the best sites in that company all those years ago. It truly has been quite a ride. I didn't truly appreciate all the technological achievements we came up with at this site until years later. At the time it just seemed like just doing our jobs. But looking back, I'm proud to have contributed to so many fine ideas and innovations.

I don't plan to disappear entirely upon retirement (which starts 9/3) as I plan to continue to consult under the Emeritus program for some time to come. However, my current work email will no longer work after today. I don't have my new email (that I'll get as a contractor) yet. I can be reached at johngu...@yahoo.com or 425-530-6571.

Going forward, I expect things will continue much as they have for this past summer. I plan to continue consulting for Keysight one day a week. I've already started hiking more, getting in more hiking this summer than in the previous four years. I look forward to more time spent working in the garden/yard.

To all my co-workers and past co-workers that I've had the honor to collaborate with, thank you for everything and making this company a fun and interesting place to work. You are what made going to work in the morning worthwhile for all those years.

Regards,

--John

CONGRATULATIONS! What a great set of memories, and you know you’re part of the memories the rest of us carry, as well.
Best wishes as you continue to thrive in a new role!
