Mini excel project

I'm having a lot of trouble with this excel macro task for work and I was wondering if you could help me as I am a bit of a beginner.
I currently have a dataset of 93,000 rows (4yrs). I am to analyse the set based on four/five columns.
Date. Sector. Market. Description and % Returns.
The idea being that you pick a start and end date, it shows the % returns at day to day/ month to month/ per quarter level for each of the sector totals. Then in another graph being able to look at it market be market (ie comparing markets against each other). With the option to show some figures on this panel too.

I was able to create something that did this for a small subset of data. 2months worth. For just the sectors, however when I switch to the actual dataset, all the udfs break(change upper limits on their own) and the time to generate the data is incredulously slow.

Please can you help me with task I would be very very grateful!
Normally I would program this kind of thing in a different language but am not allowed!
