Joseph Ewing, query

Here is a note I received from W. R. Ewing

I have been tiring for some time to locate information on a Joseph Ewing born 16 December 1793 – in Kentucky I think - and died 26 September 1841 in Lawrence, Alabama.  He was my great, great, great grandfather

 

He married Rebecca McWhorter on 5 December 1820 in Madison, Alabama.  I have her lineage.

 

I cannot find who his parents were – I know the lineage from Joseph to present.

 

Can you help?  If not can you steer me to any other source?
