What would define a professional Evidence Based Manager?
|
| |
Dear colleagues
I am in the process of writing a new book (to be published by
Routledge at the end of this year) with the working title 'HR
Professional' - it will be my attempt at defining, and painting a
reasonably clear and accurate picture of, what anyone should look like
if they want to earn the title "HR professional". After 34 years... more »

FW: Research Alert: Evidence-based HRM (EBHRM)
|
| |
Hi This is a new journal and while it uses the expression "evidence-based" in its title it's not obvious to me that its approach is specifically "evidence-based" as many of us would understand the term. Is anyone on this list involved? Cheers Rob Rob B Briner | Professor of Organizational Psychology | School of Management | University of Bath... more »

Evidence Based Medicine
|
| |
Hello all: Just saw this posting on Andrew Gelman's blog. It's a link to a 123 slide deck (!) on evidence-based medicine, and I thought it might be useful and interesting reading for many of us on this list: [link] The Swedish coffee trial alone is worth the effort of downloading the deck, in my view. Enjoy!... more »

Hi all,
As a former competitive horse-rider, I just made the following
discovery: Equitation Science, or stated differently, Evidence-Based
Horse Riding. Nice to see how evidence-based rises in various
disciplines. For more information: [link]
In the meanwhile, I'm trying to get some attention for EBMgt on... more »

Hi Long time no post. These are some things I've been meaning to put up for a while. OXFORD HANDBOOK OF EVIDENCE-BASED MANAGEMENT I keep waiting for this to appear on the OUP website. But I don't think it has. But it has appeared on the UK and Canadian Amazon sites: [link]... more »

evaluation research
|
| |
Hi all,
I crossed this invitation for a conference on evaluation research:
[link].
Is anyone familiar with evaluation research? I know very little about
it, but it seems to be a tool for thorough evalution of the effects
and performance of practices in organizations. So it seems to be... more »

Seeking measures of practitioner attitudes / practices re: use of evidence
|
| |
Dear colleagues, I am interested in identifying a reasonably brief measure of manager attitudes and practices regarding the use of evidence to inform their decision-making. The target audience is U.S. healthcare managers, some of whom participate as mentors to students conducting research projects. The question we seek to test is whether and how this activity influences their appreciation for, and use of evidence / evidence-based approaches in other aspects of their jobs.... more »

What's the evidence on Learning Styles?
|

Good morning, EBMgt-ers! (OK, afternoon or night for those of you that are East of the big pond) I just read the note below from a colleague here at Clarion. Even though the topic is not Management, since most of us have something to do with education, I thought subscribers to this group will be interested. Have a... more »
