Hi and welcome to the forum!

Nice little script. I guess it could be considered a time saver to just get to click an icon rather than opening a terminal and calling evennia with its arguments directly. Your script does not constitute a "restart" though, as far as I can tell. Running this twice should have evennia report an error that it is already running...

So, I'm using Windows 8, and I wanted a way to restart my server easily. I made this batch file using a template from http://www.computerhope.com/sethlp.htm,  and it works pretty well. I wanted to make it look nice, so I copied the look of the launcher.

The batch file can be found at: http://pastebin.com/LerKQirZ. I give full permission for anybody to do anything they want with my file.

All you have to do to use this is paste the text into a file called "restart.bat" or something else with a .bat extension, find your Evennia directory on your computer, open the game folder and move the .bat file in there. When you want to use it, just double click on the file, and it'll work. If you want to you can create a shortcut and move the shortcut anywhere and use that instead.

Have fun,

Yeah, I just realized that about my script (that it does not constitute a "restart"), so just name it something else. About running it twice, this is maybe my second batch file ever, so if someone with more skill wants to modify or add on to it, they can just go ahead. Thanks for the comment Griatch, it was very constructive. I'm learning and this really helps me get better.
