I saw somewhere on Line (several years back) where a chap installed a hidden trailer hitch on his mid 60s “A” body to enable him to tow a small trailer. Seems he used a Plymouth Mini Van bolt on Receiver hitch with a removable ball/yoke for the conversion. It was not obtrusively visible when not in use. For the life of me I cannot recall the year of hitch he used. I think it was a 90 something but for the life of me I do not recall. With my “A” body fleet growing and my pool of drivers diminishing I was thinking of installing a similar set up on my 65 Barracuda Commando car to tow either my slant 6 Barracuda or Convertible to various local events. Any knowledge of this out there? Pictures would be helpful too.

Mornin’ Group,
I don’t know if we are talking about the same car, but I saw one where the owner installed the
hitch, and a spring loaded license plate holder [like those on the old C-Bodies]. He would pull
the license plate either up/down and slide the ball mount into the hitch. So when he wasn’t
using it the hitch was pretty much hidden from view. Nice setup.
As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if I can be of any assistance.
v/r,
Matt Matthews
