Hey All,

I got a call the other day from John Drummond. He is the Communications Director for the Goodguys car club and he’s looking to fill some spots for their first east coast show. They are looking for at least 10 cars for an indoor display at the Big E fairgrounds June 15th -17th.  Below is all the info and the cost of the event, it seems like a great value for the show.

The only catch, They are looking for finished cars. Nothing in primer, no patchy paint, complete interiors. Drivers and survivors are welcome just no “Works in Progress” which leaves my car out.

I know we have at least 10 cars in New England and New York that qualify so If you are interested all the info you need is below and in the attached form.

Hi Roger. Thanks for your time today on the phone and letting me know about the correct e-mail! Attached is the entry form for the Goodguys 21st East Coast Nationals being held this year for the first time at the Eastern States Exposition Center in West Springfield, MASS June 15-17. We would be very grateful if the Early Cuda Club could provide us with as many as 10 cars for the indoor show. As I mentioned on the phone, the fee for your club will only be $45 – you get as lot of stuff for that price including the premier parking at the whole show! All of the details as to what’s going on are below. Don’t worry about the prices listed on the form. Just put a check or credit cars # at the bottom in the amount of $45 and your guys will be entered and sent confirmation letters. Please send all completed entry forms back via e-mail or US mail to: Harry Daviess, C/O Goodguys, P.O. Box 9132, Pleasanton, CA 94566 har...@good-guys.com – Harry’s phone # is (925) 218-9124. Here are the details:

•             The indoor show will be held inside the gorgeous “Better Living Center”.

•             As an indoor car show participant, your car will be “in the spotlight” throughout weekend.

Set up day will be Thursday, June 14th from 10am-5pm. The car must stay inside until Sunday at 3pm

•             Free trailer parking available onsite if needed

•             Cost- $45 for the weekend. That includes 2 adult weekend passes, 2 kids passes, a parking pass (for your daily transportation), a Goodguys membership and special building access beginning @ 7am each day.

•             All indoor entries will also be given an “Award of Excellence” and be eligible for all other show awards.

Thanks very much Roger!

Ok, so I have been ignoring the list lately, too many other things going on BUT, I am looking ahead to the Mopar Nats. Already have my lodging done and am working on my registration. Is there going to be an EVBC section? Is there something I need to be putting in my registration to identify me as wanting to be in that section?
I do not know if this has been covered previously so sorry for the repost if it has...

Scott,

Despite being a top-notch event, The Nationals has never reached the popularity level of Carlisle. I’ve been attending The Nationals for a loooong time, but only one trip to Carlisle. They’re both great, but Columbus is a LOT closer to home.

For Friday & Saturday cruising, go to Heath, Ohio. Brice Road was the place to be for years, but the Reynoldsville City Fathers decided that the hundreds of thousands of dollars we spent wasn’t worth the traffic trouble. Heath is GREAT – especially on Saturday. Also, there is no organization to parking at The Nationals, which makes it hard (impossible?) for a group to gather. They have an Original Owner’s Area. I park there. Stop by my ’66 Barracuda for a Coke & see-gar.

Sounds good, I will see you there.
My wife already got the Hotel with the intention of being close to Heath for the cruise. SHE picked it, not me...
Back in the 90's I used to go to the Mopar Nats every year and bring back Charger parts and always had the idea in mind to go down and sell... Well, we have enough parts to sell now and this is a toe in the water trip to see if this may still be a place to try and sell stuff. Did try to get a time share for Carlisle but need to start trying to get that for 2013 already...
Hopin to drive the Barracuda but may wind up driving the wifes LeBaron convert... Too expensive to drive the Charger down at 8 mpg...

Hot August nights in Reno, NV. Is a large regional car gathering but there is no "avenue of cars" we swung by on our Honeymoon 14 years ago (wow, its been that long...) and there were cars everywhere but they were not in one spot. A few hotels sponsored some clubs, but the viewing areas were closed as I recall to guest! I suppose if I registered through a large hotel it would have been different. Parking is always nice for a car show, I agree. That and centralization and perhaps a little control from the promoters, less wildcat clubs parked 2 miles from the rest of the cars in a Denny's parking lot. Whats the point?
