Hi Folks-
I finally have a few minutes and a bunch of thoughts...
We agreed at our meeting that it would be nice to have potluck get-
togethers. Anyone want to host one of these in January? Do we want
to pick a regular day (first Friday, second Sunday, for example) or
just do it when the spirit moves us? (As for me, I don't know how
soon I'll have a kitchen floor, which is a bit awkward.)
I'm finally reading a book that people have been mentioning to me at
least once a month this year: Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara
Kingsolver. Have only read one chapter thus far, but it is right up
our group's alley, disguised as a pretty litle novel. It would make a
good Christmas present for anyone you'd like to turn on to this way of
thinking.
Suzan sent me a link to this BRILLIANT little video essay that is an
incredibly lucid explanation of how the world works, what's wrong, and
how to fix it. Literally has diagrams that make high-fallutin'
economic concepts like "externalities" understandable by a second
grader.

Please DO fill out the "profile" section of this group page so any
newcomers know what we're interested in. I'll try to post some of
what you mentioned about yourselves in the meeting, but you can
probably say it better than I can.
