Python Support

support Python. As Python is my primary preference, I'm looking
forward to this. Is there any ETA on when this might be ready?

The short answer: There isn't a specific plan to get it done.
The shorter answer:
How quickly can you implement it? ;-)
Unfortunately, Python isn't a priority for any of our users who can poke
us with sticks, so we're quite short on round tuits to do the Python
interface. However, since we have a SWIG description for the PSEngine
interface[1], it should be relatively easy to do by porting whatever of
the Java stuff is needed and adding whatever Python stuff would be
necessary.
Javier is more of a Pythonista than I am, so he might be able to scope
that work better, but it strikes me as a weekend project for someone
who's used to interfacing native code with Python. One of us might get
around to it, but we're always happy to have contributors if you want to
give it a shot.
