Sponsored by the
Environmental Medical Service
at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
and the
Environmental Protection Agency
Objectives
Until recently, regulations governing laboratories have focused on
health and safety of personnel. Today, laboratories must integrate
proper waste management into these existing concerns. This conference
will describe relevant waste regulations and their implementation into
these existing concerns. Special emphasis will be placed on
administrative solutions that create incentives for responsible waste
management among research personnel.
Who Should Attend
Those responsible for the management and reduction of chemical,
biological and radioactive waste in a government, corporate, health
care, or research laboratory including: Safety Officers, Occupational
Health Professionals, Industrial Hygienists, Health Physicists, Waste
Haulers, Laboratory and Facility Mangers, and Purchasing Personnel.
