The /ep/pro-signup/ form does not complete, it creates the pro account
in the db, (it does not let me create the same name again), and then
redirects to the new subdomain.

But immediately on the new subdomain, I get a message saying:

404 not found: /ep/finish-activation

Anyone else get stuck with this?

Regards,
Dhiraj.

Is it about the wildcard? How should I set it up correctly for
*.yy.zz?
Is it possible for *.xx.yy.zz?

Create an A record called * and point it at the IP of your etherpad server.

Is the /ep/finish-activation a http or https url?

It seems that Etherpad expects a single level domain for its main
public pad location. Eg http://example.com, with the pro subdomains
being http://pro.example.com.

I had the same issue until I dedicated a single level domain to it.

Again, see the guide URL on the wiki -
