Hello all,

first of all sorry for my poor english :)

I am currently trying to get ether working, actually I think that
ether is already fine (build successfully, installed
successfully, ...) but I can not try it out because the WIN XP Pro SP2
Guest (DomU) freezes at startup (Windows was not shut down properly.
Select boot method ---> for more information checkt the attached
screenshot).

The XEN Image was created on a XEN 3.4 machine (seperate HW) as
mentioned in some Tutorials and works fine on that machine.

The machine used fits the requirements for XEN and ether.

I think that I already read about this problem somewhere but the
solutions provided there did not solve the problem (tried to switch on/
off PEA, NX, multiple CPUs).

As OS Debian Lenny is used.

Is this a known problem and if so are there some workarounds for this
problem?

Thx a lot

Pinas

Pinas,

This is a known issue and I've finally been able to reproduce it in my lab. I'll see if I can fix it.

My current workaround is to create the XEN Image on XEN 3.1.0 (same
version as xen for ether). Actually i created XEN as described in the
ether installation guide, just without adding the ether patch.

Now the XEN image boots on the ether system properly :)
