Just checking to see if anyone is around on this server, and if anyone
is using the the Thunderbird mail client as their news reader.

Lots of people. Every few days there's a post in
eternal-september.support asking for help configuring it properly.

People do, but I stick with Seamonkey, which is the suite of NNTP, RSS, mail,
browser, web page builder, etc, etc. They share a lot of the same Mozilla
Foundation code, I just like the presentation better in SM.

Yep, I've used it for years, sticking with a V 2. something, that's why
it's working well for me.
