e-s does carry alt.windows7.general, but be prepared to beef up your
killfile if you subscribe, there are plenty of idiots in there ...

alt.windows7.general
You can also Google for Web-based discussion groups.
An easy way to find new Usenet groups is to do a Google groups
search for terms or words that you would expect to find on that
group and then look at what groups the returns are posted on.

The closest ones in the microsoft.public.* hierarchy seem to be
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
microsoft.public.windows.64bit.general
so I guess you could poke around from there.
Microsoft never did have one for Windows 7......I lurk on
alt.windows7.general. However I just got a link for a Forum that a MS
friend uses....... http://www.sevenforums.com I just joined it, so can't
make any observations.
I don't like the setup in Windows Explorer or in the Start/Run area and
have found out that there is a program to change that to look like the XP
we all are familiar with. That was from the folks on the alt. news
group. They get a bit testy at times, but I recognize quite a few names
from the MS groups. (Bruce Hagen, Alias, etc) And they have been
helpful.

I have not been able to find a NG for Win7.
There are none, as previously mentioned, but M$ has established
a forum for it. You will have to google for this one because I don't
remember the link.
