Failure. It should have gone to eternal-september.test.

You're testing in the wrong place, use eternal-september.test for that.
Also, binaries are generally unwelcome in text-only newsgroups.

The source of these tests is not a public ISP, it's a Chinese State authority.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_Academy_of_Engineering_Physics

I wonder what they are testing on E-S ;-)

Perhaps E-S will become a promulgator of propaganda or a vector for
viruses; maybe even a source of (whisper it) spam. I imagine their
interest in E-S might be because of recent publicity.

They may have confused the Newsgroup name with the current month.

I think it started before the article in The Register.
Some months ago I got a request for consent for the
allocation of the domain eternal-september.org.cn
from a chinese lawyer, which I denied.

I've just noticed that the CAEP is their nuclear weapons lab.
It seems the CCP get everywhere; I don't trust them an inch.

When the name includes "Communist", that's probably wise.

Wow. There must be a half dozen followups posted in the last few days
asking users NOT to test in this newsgroup, which is not a *.test newsgroup.

Is the problem failing eyesight?

Could it be that people post something here .... and THEN actually read

(To answer my own question) No, can't be that cause I'm pretty sure I've
seen the same Nym posting 'Test' here over and over again!! ;-(

The O.P. created a specific 'nym with forged email address to post this
test article. That's too many willful acts that I'm not willing to give
him benefit of a doubt.

I doubt very much Network Solutions gave anybody permission to use email
addresses (that likely don't have mailboxes) on From of a Usenet article
for injecting a test article into Usenet. "Without permission" makes it
a forgery even though he's not impersonating an individual Usenet
poster.

Yup, that's him(it?) again. Looks like a write-only bot posting
to random eternal-september.* groups. Maybe it's Kensi checking
out alternatives to Mixmin ;-)
