Drats, I never realized that there is no consistent english version
of the OpenNews Network web site. A good starting point seems to be
http://wiki.open-news-network.org/index.php/UserFAQ
although many pages only seem to be available in German. At least,
there is a list of servers:

As you will see, the servers participating in this network have
aliases named news[1-6].
open-news-network.org in addition to their
usual names (
news1.open-news-network.org is Albasani, for example).
As the OpenNews Network is a loose cooperation of Usenet servers, they
have no consistent article numbers across the network and even the group
lists are different. They share, however, a common LDAP user directory,
so it's possible to use all servers with the same login data.
BTW: I just noticed that even the Wikipedia article on Open-News-Network e.V.
confuses
open-news-network.org and
o-n-n.org:
