Dear all,

The business world has changed dramatically in recent times.
Which of the following do you think could happen in the next 50 years?
Please explain why.

1 People will have more leisure time.
2 Fewer people will have full time jobs.
3 There will be cities of 100 million people.
4 There will be a world stock market.
5 Cash won't be used anymore.
6 People will live and work in space.
7 Trade unions will disappear.
8 There will be no retirement age.
9 Countries will be run by big business rather than governments.
10 Fresh water will be more valuable than oil.

Thank you in advance for your responses!
Best regards,

Claire

I am fearful that we are moving in the direction of a 'world government.'  I believe that this is what the Obama administration is working towards.  And trade unions will become stronger, not weaker.   Yes, we will probably start using cash less and less.   With the slowdown in population growth - especially in Europe - perhaps there won't be an official retirement age.  However, this depends on if certain jobs become mechanized.  As the 'baby boomers' (that's me) get older, there should be more of a demand for health care workers.  And, yes, in many countries of the world water is already more valuable than oil!  That is why there is a big push for desalinization.  Living and working in space?  Maybe; but I wouldn't want to do it!

Hello Chaya Claire Oshiro and all lazy bones,LOL

I had a discussion with a group of 10 students at a conversation class
this Tuesday.
When I asked,"If people in 50 years' time will have more free time and
happier",they all said,"It'll be on the contrary."
They think people in the future will be a lot buiser and less happy...

That was quite pessimistic when I heard it and then they went on
saying,"Maybe there will be a third world war then and it means
whatever we discussed here won't even happen once the world is
destroyed..." :(

I can say there will be no need for cash even earlier, and water will
be extremely pricey,too...also sooner than what we think.
Retirement age won't exist as people work to stay fit instead of for
money provided they live in developed countries of course.

When the first astronaut walked on the Moon, people predicted we would
have built a city there, and it never had happned.
Will it ever happen in 50 years' time?
It's more likely for me to see people learn to adapt to living in the
desert,in the caves or under the sea than moving to the Moon.

What do you all say, lazy bones?!LOL
I'm getting lazier and less motivated myself which isn't a good sign
as I try to be your motivation partner!LOL
So come on,guys and girls!
keep Chaya,Claire and I busy here!;)

Nice weekend to you wherever you are and whatever you do!

Hello Claire, Pln, Jason, Chaya, Charles and all

Well, I believe in 50 years time things won´t change much regarding the way we live on the other hand, the minimum retirement age will be increased and who knows, maybe there will be no retirement. Don´t you think we are very close to that?

As the population are boosting year after year, the price of food can leap, I hope we don´t run out of food in the future.

Pln, I feel that in 50 years time, we wont conquer the moon or other unknown places. I agree with you that probably we will need to learn techniques to live in desert and poluted areas. Charles, let´s hope the 3rd world war won´t be triggered otherwise the world can be destroyed provided we have lot of tons of explosives capable to explode the world more than once.

But I have some sort of good expectations once we have started plan to green the world and reduce drastically the emissions. Do you think it´s going to work? I think so.

Have a nice Friday.
Oshiro

Pln, don´t loose your motivation, we need that! :)
I´ll try to keep you, Chaya and Claire busier LOL

Hello Oshiro  Pln Claire Chaya Jun and all,

Oshiro, that is huge issue so that it can not be solved only by one people or one nation. All the countries in our planet should come together to cope with the globe issues. I believe that  all the countries will take all the problems seriously, since this is the only earth we have at present. With the development of science, some efficient and correct measures will be taken in the future. Absolutely, science has two sides, it depends on how we use it, am I right?

Pln, I've got a terrible day yesterday!!!  All the data in my computer was lost because I did stupid mistake that I format not only C but also all the hard disk. Such a 'wonderful' experiences make me learn that how important to make backup is!!

Have a nice day to all !!!

Yeah, Jason, you´re right. Science has two sides. You work with researches, don´t you? I think you know much about the benefits and detriments towards that. Even in the computers universe, we can use the knowledge about IT for good or bad.

Sorry for you Hard disk, if it helps, it happens to everyone one day. LOL

See you
Oshiro

Dear Hello Claire, Pln, Jason, Chaya, Charles and all

Claire, all things you mentioned are probability.

In my opinion, the first thing is very easy to recognize that after 50 years from now, I will be an old man with a lot of offspring LOL

Secondly, social issues, there are many inventions, advantages as well as negative problems in the incoming 50 years. I hope that everything will be better in the future. If so, nothing is more wonderful. However, nowadays, we also have to deal with a lot of troubles, such as unemployment, racial discrimination, global warming, armed race so on. As Jason said, the obstacles are not likely to be solved in a short period of time and by a certain nation, but must have solidarity of each nation over the world. More importantly, we also need some pioneer nations in every field. So, I place my trust on the developed nations.

Pln, I like your ideas, living under the sea is a new life I am thinking of it, seeing the sharks swim around us. LOL It interests me a lot, an excited feeling. I can not wait until the day.

Jason, I regret to hear about it, but there are some recovery tools. It is useful for recovering data, even though you formatted your hard drives. I don’t remember its name. try to search on Internet, when I remember the name, I will send you. “data recovery” or something like this

Great weekend to you with full of laugh and happiness!
