The Duke Student Leadership Retreat at Beaufort
August 17-20, 2007
"Collaborate and Create"
Completely free!
Duke's Student Leadership Retreat at Beaufort is sponsored every year by the
Office of Student Activities and Facilities for the development of student
leaders at Duke who are interested in learning and honing leadership skills
which will help them to create real change on Duke's campus and beyond. It
is a great opportunity for student leaders to network and collaborate with
leaders of other student organizations, as well as with campus
administrators. Past keynote speakers have included President Brodhead,
Provost
Lange, and Dr. Larry Moneta.
All transportation, food, and lodging costs throughout the weekend are
covered by the University. Participants in our Retreat move in to Duke's
residence halls before the Retreat and then travel together by bus to
Beaufort. Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all eligible to
apply.
The Student Leadership Retreat at Beaufort seeks students who have an
interest in grappling with issues of leadership. We are seeking students who
are committed to their groups and the university as a whole, and who want to
create effective changes on campus and in society. Through this retreat
students will learn to effectively navigate through Duke's rich resources,
and apply their skills and talents to improve Duke. The retreat will also
provide participants with some of the tools necessary to practice lifelong
leadership.
Please contact beaufort2...@gmail.com <mailto:beaufort2...@gmail.com> if

The deadline for applications have been extended until 5 pm this Sunday
(April 22). We look forward to reading your application!
