1 - background
2 - programming experience
3 - Erlang experience
4 - Stomp knowledge
5 - what you want to get out of erlstomp
1 - I'm Jeff and I'm a programmer work for ThoughtWorks in Beijing, China.
2 - About 2 years in C++ and about 4 years in J2EE. Recently played in
a few Ruby open source projects such as CruiseControl.rb and
RubyWorks.
3 - None. My first glance to Erlang was Joe's recent book.
4 - Ok...it's a text based messaging protocol...well that's its name
stands for, isn't it? And I heard that it could be implemented in a
few hours. That's why I typed "stomp erlang" in my google search bar.
5 - A few things I want to do here:
* practice Erlang programming
* try to figure out what Erlang can do for my daily job
* learn something about messaging
* see how to combine Erlang backend and Ruby on Rails frontend together
So, that's it. Glad to join.
