Subject: [erlang-questions] Erlang in distributed systems research
Dear list

I have the opportunity to give a talk about Erlang to the folks from
the database and information systems research group at the University
Basel. The group heavily uses Java for the prototypes they develop. We
all know that they can benefit from Erlang and that's what I want the
take-home message to be.

Besides of other things I want to talk about some examples of Erlang
in research that might fit the topic. Do you have any pointers on that
one?

Cheers
André

Dear M. Graf,

some works have been done in the past in the field of multi-agent
systems:
- https://github.com/gleber/exat
But, I do not know a lot of others examples (at least within
MAS domain). Some publications on Scala by Oderski makes
references to erlang, but I'm not sure it fulfills your request.

Cheers, yann.

Subject: [erlang-questions] RE Erlang in distributed systems research

Hi André,

It is certainly a shameless plug, but Sim-Diasca
(http://www.sim-diasca.com), which is a parallel and distributed discrete
simulation engine entirely written in Erlang, seems to correspond.

We indeed used it to perform the detailed simulation of industrial
distributed systems that are both complex and of very large-scale: we
applied Sim-Diasca to smart metering infrastructures, as discussed in
http://www.cleveronline.org/

So I suppose it could be another fairly good example.

Hope this helps,
Best regards,

Olivier Boudeville.

https://www.google.com/search?q=erlang+vs.+c%2B%2B+telecommunications

might be of relevance? if people didn't already know about it...
