The folks at the Barefoot Runner's Society have announced the Second
Annual International Barefoot Running Day - Sunday, May 6th, 2012.
According to their website: "International Barefoot Running Day (IBRD)
is a grassroots, inclusive effort to promote barefoot running as a
healthy and viable way to run. It’s also about having some fun and
enjoying the idea of running barefoot with thousands of people
worldwide on the same day."
The idea is to either tie in to an existing race, or host a separate
event to promote barefoot running all over the world on the same day.
Last year's inaugural IBRD attracted hundreds of runners worldwide.
You can see the report here:

I would like to organize a Barefoot Fun Run at Presque Isle that
morning - nothing complicated, just a non-competitive 5K run for
anyone interested in running barefoot (Minimalist shoes also welcome).
If there's enough interest I'll hold another barefoot clinic before
the run.
So please give it some thought and mark your calendars - I'll post
more info as the date gets closer.
