Stop the spam to the epubcheck group?

I've noticed some spam messages to the epubcheck group, including
links to malware.

Not sure the best way to fix this, but one way would be to moderate
membership in this group (I assume this is possible).

Could you please change the epubcheck group settings access section? Because many spam messages are entries.

I have changed the group access so that new members have to be approved.
