It’s time to tax the rich

President Ramaphosa holds the G20 gavel — and the power to rewrite the global economy.

He promised to stand for fairness and justice. Now he has the chance to prove it with a global billionaire tax.

Tell Ramaphosa: back a global billionaire tax at the G20

Right now, the world stands at a crossroads: billionaires are hoarding obscene wealth while millions struggle just to survive.

But for the first time ever, South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa has a special opportunity to change that. As G20 president, he can put a global billionaire tax at the top of the agenda — a move that could rewrite the rules of the global economy.

If he feels the weight of people power behind him, Ramaphosa could lead a historic shift. But if he doesn’t, billionaires will keep getting away with it.

That’s where we come in. If thousands of us come together, we can show Ramaphosa the world is counting on him to lead — and make billionaires finally pay their fair share.

Add your name now to demand Ramaphosa push a global billionaire tax at the G20.

Just a 2% wealth tax on the world’s richest 3,000 billionaires could raise $250 billion every single year, enough to save lives, protect ecosystems, and fund a just transition to a greener future.

Ramaphosa has already set the stage. His G20 presidency theme, “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability”, places justice front and center. He’s even launched a task force on wealth inequality and economic disparities. But unless he puts a billionaire tax on the table, these efforts risk falling short.

A billionaire tax isn’t a pipe dream — it’s practical, achievable, and popular. Polling shows strong majorities around the world support taxing billionaires.  And last year, Brazil introduced this very proposal at the G20, winning support with nations in Latin America and Africa. With South Africa hosting this year, the momentum is on Ramaphosa’s side.

But momentum alone won’t be enough — we need massive public pressure to make sure it happens.

Sign now and tell President Ramaphosa: put a global billionaire tax on the G20 agenda

Together, let’s make this year’s G20 remembered not for empty words, but for ending the era of billionaires.
