It's Halloween.
Many of us are spending today delighting in the fun of
being frightened — like watching a scary movie, dressing
up in spooky clothing, or getting lost at haunted house
events.
But
some things are too scary to laugh
at. Like how retired General Mark A.
Milley — former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
under Donald Trump — just described Trump
as a "fascist to the core" and "the most dangerous
person to this country."
General
Milley warns that Trump is a "walking, talking
advertisement" of what he plans to do with presidential
power: silence opposition, intimidate critics,
and abuse the authority of the Oval
Office.
This
is a man who not only disregards the Constitution but
explicitly considers using the military against
his opponents. Trump even threatened to bring
two retired military officers back to active duty just
to court-martial them, simply because they criticized
him after they left service. In fact, Trump even
openly advocated for the literal
execution of military officials who
dared to criticize him.
Milley
has endured death threats due to Trump's hostile
rhetoric and was even forced to install bulletproof
glass and blast-proof curtains at his home. This is the
environment Trump has created: violence and fear are
weaponized against anyone he views as an enemy.
Milley
has made it clear: Trump's authoritarian impulses
threaten our democracy. We cannot risk our freedom,
safety, or rule of law. Sign the pledge now to Vote
Blue in the November 2024 elections to stand against
fascism!
