The American people deserve
a government that prioritizes their health, safety, and
the environment — not corporate profits. Yet, on
December 5, 2024, over 100 trade groups handed
Donald Trump's incoming administration a shocking
21-page "wishlist" of demands — designed to gut
critical protections for clean air, water, and public
health.
This is a blatant attempt to
prioritize industrial greed over the well-being
of millions. That includes by weakening limits
on toxic PFAS "forever" chemicals, even
though these protections could save thousands of lives
and prevent cancer and asthma cases. It also includes
delaying life-saving worker heat protections, putting
vulnerable employees at risk during extreme
weather.
Additionally, lobbyists are hoping to
undo pollution safeguards, risking air
and water quality for millions of Americans. And
unsurprisingly, they want Trump to roll back emissions
standards, accelerating climate change
and threatening public health.
This is not just
an attack on environmental safeguards — it's an
assault on democracy and accountability. We
cannot let corporate greed dictate policies that affect
our lives and the planet.
But we've
fought back before — and won. During Trump's
first administration, activists and legal
advocates stopped nearly 90% of his prior
attempts to dismantle environmental
protections. Now, we must stand united again to stop
these new attacks.
