Dear Friend of the Baltic
Sea, It is time to nominate
candidates for the Baltic Sea Award 2020. Help
us to find the person who or organization which
have done meaningful and outstanding
achievements for the Baltic Sea environment. The
candidates can be active in the fields of
science, culture, or in environmental movements.
Authorities or decision-makers in the business
world or public administration can also be
nominated. The
nominations shall be submitted by November
15th 2018. The
laureates receive their Awards at a solemn
ceremony held in Mariehamn on May 8th
2020. More information about the
nomination can be found on our web page and our nomination brochure. Östersjöfonden, based
on the Åland Islands, have for 30 years rewarded
persons and institutions who have acted as
forerunners in the protection of the Baltic Sea.
All together more than 945,000 euros have been
given out to 98 award winners from all around
the Baltic Sea region. This year Olga
Senova from Russia,
Erik
Bonsdorff from Finland,
Jochen
Lamp from Germany and
Mikko
Jokinen from Finland was awarded
for their life long work for a cleaner
sea.
