People living in poverty are
facing a double crisis amid the pandemic as they
face higher exposure to the virus and lack
access to quality health care when they get
sick, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio
Guterres said in an address marking
International Day for the Eradication of
Poverty. Guterres urged global cooperation to
eradicate the virus, asserting that the
international community is currently failing the

A United Nations arms embargo
against Iran that has been in place for 13 years
expired on Sunday as scheduled in the Joint
Comprehensive Plan of Action, despite efforts by
the US to impose snapback sanctions through the
2015 nuclear deal. Authorities in the US have
vowed to impose sanctions on any person or
organization supporting Iran's weapons
