The end of the year is fast
approaching — millions of Americans are gathering with
loved ones to celebrate holidays, making New Year's
resolutions…and watching in horror as a healthcare
crisis speeds towards them in 2026.
In early 2026,
Affordable Care Act tax credits are set to expire — and
when they do, many families could see their health
insurance premiums jump by $1,000 a year or
more.
These credits
have been a lifeline since the pandemic. Letting them expire would
push countless people closer to medical and financial
ruin.
Democrats have
offered a straightforward solution: extend the ACA
subsidies. Republicans, however, remain divided and have
pushed proposals that would eliminate the credits
altogether, replacing them with inadequate savings
accounts that help only after people are already
drowning in medical bills.
Earlier this
month, both approaches failed in a deeply divided
Senate, once again leaving Americans' health at the
mercy of political gridlock and corporate insurance
interests.
The consequences of this
broken system are deadly. Americans die years
earlier than their counterparts in other wealthy
nations, and tens of thousands die every year simply
because they can't afford to see a
doctor.
This is not a
failure of resources — it's the result of a for-profit
healthcare system that prioritizes insurance company
profits over human lives.
There is a real,
lasting solution: Medicare for All. The Medicare for All
Act, introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders and
Representatives Pramila Jayapal and Debbie Dingell,
would guarantee comprehensive healthcare for everyone
— regardless of income, job, or health status — and
ensure no one goes bankrupt just for being
sick.
Sign the petition now and
demand that Congress stop gambling with our lives and
pass Medicare for
All.
