The Vice Prime Minister of Georgia,
Minister of Education and Science visited Salibauri
Eco-camp
On July 13, 2017, the Vice Prime
Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science Aleksandre Jejelava,
Minister of Education Culture and Sport of Adjara Inga Shamilishvili and Deputy
Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia Revaz Javelidze visited Salibauri
Eco-camp. They received information about eco-camp program and spoke with camp
leaders and participants.
Within the framework of summer camps
project, during July-September, 2017, Salibauri Eco-camp will host 1500 school
students from East Georgia. Salibauri Eco-camp is implemented by the Ministry of
Education and Science and NGO “EcoVision,” under the project “Let's Learn and
Rest Together.”
In eco-camp program there are
integrated educational thematic trainings and scientific works as well as many
sports activities, educational games and adventure tours. The camp program also
provides the establishment of healthy lifestyle among adolescents, through a
variety of sports activities.
In eco-camps there are held popular
lectures on environmental issues by professors and experts of this
field.
Eco-camp aims to raise awareness of
participants in following environmental directions:
- Local biodiversity and the importance
of protected areas;
- Establishment of natural resources
sustainable management principles;
- Renewable energy, energy
saving/energy efficiency;
- Establishment of waste management
basic principles;
- Skill of orientation in nature; How
to behave in nature and safety rules;
- Increasing of civil
activity.
