In
fact, the Department of Defense consumes almost 80% of
fuel used by the entire U.S. government. One report even
found that the military has emitted more than
1.2 billion metric tons of greenhouse gases
since the beginning of the War on Terror in
2001.
A
single Humvee vehicle provides somewhere between 4-8
miles of transit per gallon of fuel used. An
F-35 fighter jet is even worse, requiring 2.37 gallons
per each mile.
The
clock is ticking on decarbonizing the planet and solving
the ecological crisis we created before it is too
late.
It
is time for Congress to stop wasting money, and to stop
contributing to so much climate chaos. It must
reduce the military budget, and fund programs and
research that will help solve the climate crisis
instead! Sign the petition now
if you agree!

P.S.
Just this year, the Navy leaked 20,000 gallons of fuel
into a well in Hawaii, devastating a key water source
for nearby families. Sign the
