Dear Colleagues,
We would like to inform you that a global workshop on Water, Agriculture and Climate-Change will be held on 17-18 October 2022. It will be followed by the thirteenth meeting of the Task Force on Water and Climate under the Water Convention on 19 October 2022.
Both events will be organised in a hybrid format, with participants present in the Palais des Nations, Geneva and those unable to join in person connected remotely. We kindly ask you to facilitate nomination of the relevant representatives from your countries and basins responsible for water management, agriculture and climate change to participate in the afore-mentioned events.
Please find attached the information note of the global workshop and annotated agenda of the thirteenth meeting of theTask Force on Water and Climate. The working languages of the events will be English, French, Spanish and Russian.

The global workshop is organized under the auspices of the Water Convention serviced by UNECE, under the leadership of the Netherlands and Switzerland, in cooperation with the International Network of Basin Organisations (INBO).
The workshop will bring together water and agriculture communities as well as climate change experts to jointly discuss best practices and lessons learned in addressing water scarcity and water quality through improving climate adaptation and equitable and sustainable water allocation on the national and transboundary levels.
The thirteenth meeting of the Task Force on Water and Climate aims to discuss, plan and provide guidance to the implementation of the activities on water and climate under the programme of work for 2022-2024 of the Water Convention.

Nous avons le plaisir de vous informer qu’un atelier mondial sur l’eau, l’agriculture et les changements climatiques se tiendra les 17 et 18 octobre 2022. Il sera suivi de la treizième réunion de l’Équipe spéciale de l’eau et du climat au titre de la Convention sur l’eau le 19 octobre 2022.
Ces deux événements seront organisés dans un format hybride, avec des participants présents au Palais des Nations, à Genève, et les personnes ne pouvant être présentes en personne connectées à distance. L’atelier mondial est organisé sous les auspices de la Convention sur l’eau, dont le secrétariat est assuré par la CEE-ONU, sous la direction des Pays-Bas et de la Suisse, en coopération avec le Réseau international des organismes de bassin (RIOB).
L’atelier réunira les acteurs des secteurs de l’eau et de l’agriculture ainsi que des experts des changements climatiques afin d’examiner conjointement les meilleures pratiques et les enseignements tirés en matière de pénurie d’eau et de qualité de l’eau grâce à l’adaptation aux changements climatiques et à la répartition équitable et durable de l’eau aux niveaux national et transfrontière.
L’objet de la treizième réunion de l’Équipe spéciale de l’eau et du climat est de discuter, de planifier et de fournir des orientations pour la mise en œuvre des activités sur l’eau et le climat dans le cadre du programme de travail pour 2022-2024 de la Convention sur l’eau.

Мы хотели бы сообщить вам, что глобальное рабочее совещание по вопросам водных ресурсов, сельского хозяйства и изменения климата состоится 17–18 октября 2022 года. После рабочего совещания 19 октября 2022 года состоится тринадцатое совещание Целевой группы по проблемам воды и климата в рамках Конвенции по трансграничным водам.
Оба мероприятия будут организованы в смешанном формате: участники могут присутствовать на мероприятиях во Дворце Наций в Женеве, а те, кто не может принять участие очно, будут подключаться удаленно. Просим вас содействовать назначению для участия в вышеупомянутых мероприятиях соответствующих представителей от ваших стран и бассейнов, ответственных за вопросы управления водными ресурсами, сельского хозяйства и изменения климата.
К настоящему письму прилагается информационная записка глобального рабочего совещания и аннотированная повестка дня тринадцатого совещания Целевой группы по проблемам воды и климата. Рабочими языками мероприятий будут английский, французский, испанский и русский языки.

Глобальное рабочее совещание организовано под эгидой Конвенции по трансграничным водам, обслуживаемой ЕЭК ООН, под руководством Нидерландов и Швейцарии в сотрудничестве с Международной сетью бассейновых организаций (МСБО).
Представители сообществ специалистов по проблемам водных ресурсов и сельского хозяйства, а также эксперты по вопросам изменения климата соберутся в рамках рабочего совещания для совместного обсуждения передовой практики и извлеченных уроков в решении проблем нехватки и качества воды путем улучшения адаптации к изменению климата, а также справедливого и устойчивого распределения водных ресурсов на национальном и трансграничном уровнях.
В ходе тринадцатого совещания Целевой группы по проблемам воды и климата предполагается обсудить мероприятия, связанные с вопросами водных ресурсов и изменения климата, в рамках программы работы Конвенции по трансграничным водам на 2022–2024 годы, разработать планы и предоставить рекомендации по их осуществлению.

Nos gustaría informarles de que los días 17 y 18 de octubre de 2022 se celebrará un taller mundial sobre agua, agricultura y cambio climático. El 19 de octubre de 2022, le seguirá la decimotercera reunión del Grupo de tareas sobre el clima y el agua en el marco del Convenio del Agua.
Ambos eventos se organizarán en un formato híbrido, con participantes presentes en el Palacio de las Naciones, en Ginebra, y aquellos que no puedan unirse en persona conectados a distancia. Les rogamos que nos comuniquen la designación de los representantes pertinentes de sus países y cuencas responsables de la gestión del agua, la agricultura y el cambio climático para que participen en los eventos mencionados.
Adjuntamos la nota informativa sobre el taller mundial y el orden del día comentado de la decimotercera reunión del Grupo de tareas sobre el clima y el agua. Los idiomas de trabajo de los eventos serán el inglés, el francés, el español y el ruso.

La decimotercera reunión del grupo de tareas sobre el clima y el agua tiene como objetivo debatir, planificar y orientar la ejecución de las actividades sobre el agua y el clima en el marco del programa de trabajo para el periodo 2022-2024 del Convenio del Agua.
