We hope this email will find you all very well!
The UN Water Conference is approaching! Few days until we all meet for this historic global gathering to discuss the midterm review of the implementation of the International Decade for Action on Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028 and come up with commitments for an ambitious Water Action Agenda!
We hope that many of you/ your countries will mention the importance of transboundary water cooperation and the Water Convention in your statements, commitments and other relevant occasions.
As you know, a number of side events will take place during the conference. The Water Convention secretariat is among the lead organisers of 3 main side events which will all take place inside the UN Headquarters and to which you are invited:
• 22 March, 9:30-10:45 (ECOSOC room): Speeding-up transboundary water cooperation: the value of the Water Convention, led by Estonia, will be webcasted on UN WEB TV and held in English and French.
• 23 March, 18:30-19:45 (ECOSOC room): Committing to advance transboundary water cooperation worldwide for sustainable development, climate action, stability and peace, organized by the Transboundary Water Cooperation Coalition and led by Slovenia, will be webcasted on UN WEB TV and held in English, French and Spanish.
• 24 March, 8:00-9:15 (Special Event Room (CR2)): Regional Dialogue on Accelerating Implementation of the Water Agenda, organized by the five regional commissions of the United Nations and led by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA)

You will find attached to this email the flyers of these 3 side events. Please do not hesitate to disseminate them in your relevant network.
Please also find attached the List of all side-events relevant for transboundary water cooperation and peace organized during the UN Water conference by different organizations or countries to ease the planning of your participation.

La Conférence des Nations Unies sur l'eau approche ! Il ne reste que quelques jours avant que nous nous retrouvions tous pour ce rassemblement mondial historique afin de discuter de l'examen à mi-parcours de la mise en œuvre de la Décennie internationale d'action "L'eau au service du développement durable", 2018-2028, et de prendre des engagements pour un programme d'action pour l'eau ambitieux !
Nous espérons que beaucoup d'entre vous ou de vos pays mentionneront l'importance de la coopération transfrontalière dans le domaine de l'eau et de la Convention sur l'eau dans leurs déclarations, leurs engagements et à d'autres occasions pertinentes.
Comme vous le savez, un certain nombre d'événements parallèles auront lieu pendant la conférence. Le secrétariat de la Convention sur l'eau est l'un des principaux organisateurs de trois principaux événements qui se dérouleront tous au siège des Nations Unies et auxquels vous êtes invités :
- 22 mars, 9h30-10h45 (salle ECOSOC) : « Accélérer la coopération transfrontalière dans le domaine de l'eau : la valeur de la Convention sur l'eau »( Speeding-up transboundary water cooperation: the value of the Water Convention), porté par l'Estonie. Il sera diffusé sur UN WEB TV et se déroulera en anglais et en français.
- 23 mars, 18h30-19h45 (salle ECOSOC) : « S'engager à faire progresser la coopération sur les eaux transfrontalières dans le monde pour le développement durable, l'action climatique, la stabilité et la paix » (Committing to advance transboundary water cooperation worldwide for sustainable development, climate action, stability and peace), organisée par la Coalition pour la coopération sur les eaux transfrontalières et porté par la Slovénie. Il sera diffusé sur UN WEB TV et se tiendra en anglais, en français et en espagnol.
- 24 mars, 8h00-9h15 (Salle CR2) : « Dialogue régional sur l'accélération de la mise en œuvre de l'agenda de l'eau » (Regional Dialogue on Accelerating Implementation of the Water Agenda) organisé par les cinq commissions régionales des Nations Unies et porté par la Commission économique et sociale des Nations Unies pour l'Asie occidentale (ESCWA).

Esperamos que se encuentren muy bien.
La Conferencia de la ONU sobre el Agua se acerca. Tan solo quedan unos días para que nos reunamos todos en este histórico encuentro mundial, para debatir el examen de mitad de periodo del Decenio Internacional para la Acción "Agua para el Desarrollo Sostenible" (2018-2028) y para conseguir compromisos para una ambiciosa Agenda de Acción para el Agua.
Esperamos que muchos de ustedes/de sus países mencionen en sus declaraciones, compromisos y otras ocasiones pertinentes la importancia de la cooperación en materia de aguas transfronterizas y de la Convención del Agua.
Como saben, durante la conferencia tendrán lugar una serie de actos paralelos. La secretaría de la Convención del Agua es uno de los principales organizadores de tres actos paralelos que tendrán lugar en la sede de las Naciones Unidas y a los que ustedes están invitados:
• 22 de marzo, 9:30-10:45 (sala ECOSOC): Acelerar la cooperación en materia de aguas transfronterizas: el valor de la Convención del Agua, estará dirigido por Estonia, será retransmitido por UN WEB TV y se celebrará en inglés y francés.
• 23 de marzo, 18:30-19:45 (sala ECOSOC): Compromiso para avanzar en la cooperación mundial en materia de aguas transfronterizas para el desarrollo sostenible, la acción por el clima, la estabilidad y la paz, organizado por la Coalición para la Cooperación en materia de Aguas Transfronterizas y dirigido por Eslovenia, será retransmitido por UN WEB TV y se celebrará en inglés, francés y español.
• 24 de marzo, 8:00-9:15 (Sala de actos especiales (CR2)): Diálogo regional sobre la aceleración de la aplicación de la Agenda del Agua, organizado por las cinco comisiones regionales de las Naciones Unidas y dirigido por la Comisión Económica y Social de las Naciones Unidas para Asia Occidental (CESPAO).

Водная конференция ООН уже совсем близко! Всего через несколько дней мы все соберемся на этом глобальном мероприятии, чтобы провести среднесрочный обзор хода реализации Международного десятилетия действий «Вода для устойчивого развития», 2018–2028 годы, и взять на себя амбициозные обязательства в рамках Программы действий в области водных ресурсов (Water Action Agenda)!
Мы надеемся, что многие из вас/ваших стран будут упоминать о важности трансграничного водного сотрудничества и Конвенции по трансграничным водам в своих выступлениях, обязательствах и в других соответствующих ситуациях.
