Vladimir,
Since the
beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a silver lining has
appeared at animal shelters around the world — folks who are
spending more time at home than ever are sharing their time
and space with animals in need. But, unfortunately, not everyone who
decides they want to foster or adopt an animal has the best
intentions.
In Russia, a woman has admitted
to adopting a dog, only to butcher it and eat it with her
husband later that night. The woman adopted sweet Nika and
said she was taking her to a loving home. But later that
night, when shelter staff visited the woman's residence in
order to make sure it was a suitable environment, they were
greeted with a scene from a horror film. Some of
Nika's remains lay strewn about the woman's porch; the rest
were cooking on the stove.
Galina, Nika's murderer,
admitted that she bludgeoned the defenseless
puppy with a metal rod before cooking and consuming
her. But she still walks free. She even boasted about
this, saying "No one will put me in jail over a dog." This
must change — other would-be abusers must see that there are
consequences for such actions. Plus, Galina is too dangerous
to not be jailed, especially when we consider the connections
between animal abuse and human abuse. Sign the petition and demand that Galina
is charged for murdering and eating Nika!
Thank you,

P.S. Killing
and eating a puppy is a horrendous crime. So why have no
charges been brought against this woman? Please sign the petition. |
