Modernization of Lighting System of Akhaltsikhe
Castle
On 28 April 2017, a presentation of the project "Modernization
of Lighting
System of Akhaltsikhe Castle" took place at the Akhaltsikhe
Historical
Castle.
This project was implemented by the Energy
Efficiency Center Georgia, with
the financing from BP and its co-ventures
within its project "Renewable
Energy & Energy Efficiency New
Project".
Among invitees and guests were representatives of BP in
Georgia,
representatives of Akhaltsikhe municipality City Hall, Akhaltsikhe
municipality Council, Administration of Castle, Energy Efficiency Center
Georgia, local media.
The implemented project represents a
demonstration project with deployment
of energy efficient solutions such as
replacement of sodium lights with
LEDs. The implemented measures along with
technical and economic benefits
will deliver and mitigate climate change
impacts.
Implemented energy efficient measure will help to
Akhatsikhe town as a
"Covenant of Mayors" signatory city to fulfil its
obligations, particularly
reduce CO2 emissions by 20% and increase use of
clean energy technologies by
20% for 2020.
After opening
ceremony, invited guests toured the castle territory to view
the modernized
lighting system.
