Climate science education is crucial for young people in a
warming world.

|
The climate crisis makes headlines for the
increasing number of challenges it presents for
cities, governments, and all people living on our
planet. But it doesn’t show up often enough in
lesson plans. |
In fact, only 42 percent of
educators admitted to teaching lessons on
climate change, according to a recent NPR
poll. |
This is a huge
problem. Young
people everywhere are about to inherit a global
crisis – one we have not given them the tools to
fight. | |
| | |
Kids need climate science. It’s the only way we
can prepare them for their future in a warming
world. |
In our latest free fact sheet, we
discuss the value of climate science education for
kids, and we spell out three key talking
points to share with your friends,
neighbors, and, importantly, local educators,
principals, and school officials to alert them to
the urgent need for rigorous, standards-based
climate science education in schools everywhere.
Use it to start — or advance — the
conversation about why climate science education
is vital for our kids’ future. Because it is.
