ICE agents are operating like the Gestapo – arresting
kids, ripping families apart, and openly shooting and killing
unarmed people.
It is terrifying to witness Trump’s unhinged crackdown, but we
have one powerful way to fight back.
Trump wants this summer's FIFA World Cup to be his
coronation – saying it could be “the biggest” sporting
event ever.
Not if we can help it. No World Cup prestige for
fascists.
Incredibly, some officials are already discussing a
boycott, from ex FIFA president Sepp Blatter to a Vice President
of the German Football Federation. In the UK, MPs are urging England
and Scotland’s teams to stay home.
A coordinated boycott by teams, players, and sponsors would send
a crystal clear message: people around the world reject Trump’s
fascist agenda.
Momentum is building. What’s missing is overwhelming public
demand:
Join the call to boycott Trump’s World
Cup
Dozens of people have died from Donald
Trump’s immigration crackdown and
thousands are being held in makeshift camps under ugly
conditions. The
administration’s goal is to expand prison facilities to hold between
100,000-150,000 people at once. ICE isn’t slowing down -
it’s only getting started.
It would be a mistake to think these ICE raids are only something
that could happen in Minnesota, USA. If we allow that terror to rein
on one US city, it will rein on our cities too - including
outside the US. Already officials in the UK and Germany are
proposing similar ICE agencies, and Trump's ICE agents will “assist”
with security at the winter Olympics in Italy!
And it isn’t just immigration. Trump has kidnapped a head of
state, threatened to invade Greenland and bomb Iran, and his lackeys
are threatening Canada and trying to underwrite the secession of
Canadian provinces. Trump is at war with his citizens and with
the world.
A boycott by the UK, Spain, Brazil, or Germany would strip the
World Cup of its legitimacy and turn that global celebration
into an embarrassing symbol of Trump’s isolation and aggression.
Hosting a successful World Cup really matters to Trump -
if even a few countries pull out, it’ll be a massive blow to his
fragile ego, and send a clear message that he will be held
accountable.
Tell teams, players, and sponsors: Boycott Trump’s
World Cup
