Join the Petition for Protection of Krtsanisi Park

Krtsanisi Park is a beautiful green area located between Tbilisi and Rustavi. The main goal of its foundation was to create a recreational area near the capital city. The park is now under state ownership and has no legal status for its protection!   The ecological and sanitary condition of the park is unsatisfactory as no entity controls the area. Municipal waste is scattered everywhere and no waste bins are installed. Local residents mostly use the park for grazing and firewood source.   Because of the unprotected status of the park, it is frequented by hunters, posing a serious threat to visitors and inflicting damage on the unique biodiversity of the park.   The park provides a unique opportunity for Tbilisi residents to feel amidst the built-up areas the natural environment, away from the urban noise, dust and city atmosphere. Smooth relief and roads embellished with magnificent alleys make it extremely convenient for bicycle rides. This is also a wonderful site for picnics, camping, educational tours, outings and bird-watching.   To see for yourselves, watch the video – A Day at Krtsanisi Park.
