Healthy.
Liveable. Sustainable. Inclusive. Bright.
Possible.
This is
#TheFutureWeWant, and it’s happening in the
world’s
cities. | |

The
global climate emergency is mobilising people
everywhere. Young people are striking,
protesters are marching, and people are speaking
up to demand urgent climate
action.
This
sense of emergency, allied to optimism that
climate action presents an opportunity to
deliver much-needed social and economic change,
is both the backdrop and inspiration for the C40 World Mayors Summit
2019.
On October 9-12, 2019, more
than 70 mayors of many of the world’s largest
and most influential cities will meet in
Copenhagen alongside global decision-makers,
business executives, scientists, and citizens to
commit to more ambitious climate action and
showcase the innovative solutions that are
creating healthier, more livable communities. At
the Summit, we will demonstrate that the future
we want is possible, and we can build it
together. | |
As
the host city, Copenhagen is an ideal venue to
showcase what it’s like to live in a city on the
frontline of innovation, where many incredible
solutions are already underway and are
transforming the urban landscape for the benefit
of people and planet.
Joining us at the
Summit are some of the world’s most important voices on climate action,
including C40 Chair and Mayor of Paris Anne
Hidalgo, C40 Board President Michael Bloomberg,
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, former U.S.
Vice President Al Gore, and U.S. Representative
for New York's 14th Congressional District
Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez. | |
