Elon Musk's artificial
intelligence company is operating dozens of gas-powered
turbines without proper permits, and surrounding
communities are paying the price. Thermal drone footage
shows xAI continuing to burn fossil fuels at
its Southaven, Mississippi data center, despite the EPA
reiterating that these turbines require permits under
the Clean Air Act before they can operate. Former EPA
enforcement officials reviewing the evidence have stated
plainly: this is a violation of the
laws.
Sign now to demand that the
EPA and Mississippi regulators immediately enforce Clean
Air Act protections.
These are not
small generators. Experts compare them to jet engines.
The Southaven facility could emit more than 6 million
tons of greenhouse gases and over 1,300 tons of harmful
air pollutants each year. These are pollutants linked to
asthma, lung cancer, heart attacks, and other serious
health impacts. The Clean Air Act is clear: pollution
sources must obtain permits before operating. Federal
law exists to prevent exactly this kind of unchecked
pollution in populated communities. If state regulators
refuse to enforce federal standards, the EPA has both
the authority and responsibility to step in. Sign the petition to demand
immediate, full compliance with the Clean Air Act
permitting requirements before more harm is
caused!
