Some of the world's largest and most majestic creatures are threatened.

Only 336 North Atlantic Right Whales Remain in the Wild. They Need our Protection!

A devastating new report shows that, yet again, North Atlantic right whale populations are dropping — this time by another 8% between 2019 and 2020. These creatures are vital members of their oceanic homes' ecosystems, not to mention downright magnificent. They are some of the largest mammals on Earth, weighing in at up to 140,000 pounds and growing to as long as 52 feet!

But these intelligent, long-living whales which once numbered in the tens of thousands are no match for human development. The two leading causes of death among right whales are human-induced and thus, preventable: collisions with vessels and entanglement in fishing gear. Luckily, the Scientific Assistance for Very Endangered (SAVE) Right Whales Act can help us protect the few whales that remain by regulating the industries most responsible for their demise. Sign now to tell Congress: pass the SAVE Right Whales Act!

P.S. Hunting pushed North Atlantic right whales to the brink of extinction. Now that it's banned, ship collisions and fishing net entanglement threaten the mere hundreds of whales that are left. Congress must pass the SAVE Right Whales Act!
