Более 50 человек погибли и несколько тысяч потеряли кров и всё имущество в июле 2018 года,  когда в Лаосе прорвало дамбу на строящейся ГЭС  Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy (невыговариваемо, увы).

До сих пор жители не получили справедливой компенсации и находятся в бедственом положении.

Пожалуйста по данной ссылке подпишите письмо требующее чтобы причастные к строительству ГЭС финансовые институты выплатили компенсацию и убедились что она дошла до пострадавших.

Ниже письмо со ссылками на англоязычный доклад про катастрофу и её последствия для населения. Учитывая что Лаос не выполнил свои обещания остановить создание новых ГЭС до окончания полной инспекции соотвествия старых ГЭС и проектов международным стандартам безопасности, такое письмо будет иметь более широкий эффект для обуздания гидростроительства в бассейне Меконга, в котором участвуют и российские компании.

Dear all,

Thousands of people lost their homes when faulty construction led to the devastating dam collapse of the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy hydropower project in southern Laos in July 2018. Now well over a year later, no one has been held accountable and the victims have already waited too long for redress. The background and details have been documented in a report, Reckless Endangerment. 

International Rivers and Inclusive Development International are engaged in a campaign to hold those responsible for the Xe Pian Xe Namnoy dam collapse accountable through demanding that the developers, financiers and insurers of the project ensure that real compensation is provided to the survivors in Laos and Cambodia.

As part of the campaign, people are urged to sign their names to a letter that will be sent directly to the project backers.
