The
Municipality of Cremona gave Gino Ruggeri, a
militant of the Radical Party, the civic
recognition "Gold Medal of the City of Cremona"
for the following reason: high civic and moral
values from His Action in the first instance of
the criminal trial which ended with the judgment
of legitimacy before the Supreme Court of
Cassation last September 25th with a definitive
recognition in favor of the Municipality of
Cremona of the right to the patrimonial and
non-patrimonial damages suffered, to be quantified
in a separate civil trial and of a provisional
payment of one million euros – for the testimony
in defense of the Cremona community to safeguard
the rights of the community and respect for the
environment and the health of citizens. The trial
to which his action refers, relates the pollution
produced by the Tamoil refinery, the object of
thirty years of struggles by the Radical Party and
which, finally, saw Gino Ruggeri form the defence
in the proceedings instead of the
Municipality. | | |
