The World Health Organization
reported a record 307,930 new coronavirus cases
on Sunday for the preceding 24 hours, with the
largest increases appearing in India, the US and
Brazil. WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr.
Hans Kluge says new cases and deaths will
continue to rise in Europe in the coming months,
while Olivier De Schutter, a special rapporteur
on extreme poverty and human rights, urged
leaders at the United Nations General Assembly
to take action against inequalities, warning
that "the worst impacts of the crisis on poverty
