Energy Efficiency and Clean Energy




Within the EU funded project “Civic Society Organizations Supporting Free
Trade with Europe” Rural Communities Development Agency (RCDA), partner of
Czech NGO “People in Need” has held scheduled training in Telavi for Civil
Society Organizations and LAG’s from Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kakheti and Kvemo
Kartli, on the topic: Energy Efficiency and Clean Energy. RCDA has more than
20 years working experience in sustainable management of natural resources,
utilization of renewable energy resources, waste management, supporting of
women business initiatives, etc.



The training module aimed to increase participants’ awareness in the Deep
and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) agreement with the EU in terms of
Energy Efficiency and Clean Energy issues, to enable them to further share
knowledge and information to interested farmers, farmers groups and
cooperatives, small farmers and general public. Topics, such as types of
renewable energy, sources and local resources, the possibility of their use
in Georgia, renewable energy efficiency, promotion and supporting
obligations for Georgia, the legislation of renewable energy development, in
terms of promotion and support (sustainable energy) and other important
issues had been discussed at the training.



This project is funded by the EU and is part of the EU assistance to the
Government of Georgia in the implementation of DCFTA, which will support
Georgia’s integration into the EU market. The project is implemented by the
Czech NGO "People in Need" (PIN) with its partner organizations: Rural
Communities Development Agency (RCDA), PMC Research Center and Association
"Atinati." The Georgian Alliance for Agriculture and Regional Development
(GAARD) supports the efforts of civil society by means of product-specific
agricultural forums at regional and national levels and enable regional SCOs
engaged in agriculture and rural development access these platforms.
