The climate crisis isn't decades in the future. It is
right now and it’s time for every one of us to stand
together to demand urgent, transformative actions to
address it.
The Senate passed the Inflation Reduction
Act over the weekend and the House is expected to
pass it by the end of this week, setting the stage for
President Biden to sign more than $350 BILLION in
spending to fight climate change.
That’s a big deal, but it’s also still not enough.
Stopping the climate crisis will require far-reaching
changes in all parts of society. It’s going to take
bold, ambitious, and transformational ideas on a global
scale if we have a chance to reverse this existential
threat to our planet. With the fossil fuel industry
being one of the most powerful political forces in the
country, we need leaders at every level to confront them
head-on to usher in a new era of just, bold, and
equitable climate action.
It is time for the United States to lead on
this issue by calling the climate crisis what it is: an
emergency that requires an urgent, massive
response.
Tell President Biden to meet the
immediate threat of the climate crisis and declare
climate an emergency under the National Emergencies
Act.
It’s no secret that the fossil fuel industry spends
hundreds of millions of dollars to protect its
interests, while they continue to lie and deny the
reality of climate change.
The politicians and institutions that are bought and
paid for would rather protect billions of dollars in
profits, leaving future generations to deal with the
catastrophic consequences of climate change.
Let’s unite to demand the transformative change we
need in order to save our future. It’s time we act like
climate change is the emergency that it is and confront
the fossil fuel industry driving the crisis.
Tell President Biden to meet the immediate
threat of the climate crisis and declare climate an
emergency under the National Emergencies
Act.
We must raise our voices and face the climate crisis
together.
