Training in Samtskhe – Javakheti State University



Within the Empowering Modern Research Practices of the Regional
Agriculture-Related Institutions Programme


Training in integrated natural resource management (INRM) was held by CENN
in Samtskhe – Javakheti State University on 7 April 2016, for university
professors and students. During the training, major components of INRM were
discussed, concluding with how to develop an INRM plan and how various
indicators can be set.



The University was presented with a wide range of literature, including a
case study, which will further enable the institution to carry out detailed
studies in INRM.



The training in INRM is to be followed by lectures on climate smart
agriculture (CSA) and separate sessions on building management plans and
guidelines on several environmental issues.




GIPA, with the support of CENN and PMC RC, facilitates the institutional
capacity-building programme, Empowering Modern Research Practices of the
Regional Agriculture-Related Institutions, which is funded by the European
Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD). It
aims to build the capacity of regional universities through trainings and
joint research into key problem areas in the regions of Kakheti, Adjara and
Samtskhe-Javakheti.
