Polish climate activists are taking their campaign to Warsaw to demand climate action from their government. They have the courage and the skills to make the case to their leaders. But the group is made up of volunteers, and they need support from the rest of us to get the resources to win.

Getting tough on climate change isn’t easy. It demands a lot from all of us. That’s especially true for Poland, because they rely so much on coal power. But without action from the Polish government, a European plan for tackling climate change won’t be effective.

Can you chip in to support our climate campaigning in Poland and to get the activists the resources they need to convince their government to take action on the climate emergency?

I’ll surprise you!

Pushing governments to take action on climate change is vital in every country. But it is especially important in Poland right now. With all the financial support Poland should get from the EU green recovery plans, they have to also agree to more ambitious climate protection. Poland slowing down progress on tackling dangerous climate change is not just a threat to people in Poland, but across Europe as a whole.

The Polish climate activists have a plan for how to get leaders’ attention. Protestors will form a march organised into four coloured blocks, to symbolise love, hope, sorrow and rebellion. After they reach central Warsaw, they will gather into a camp - called Climate Town - where people will attend socially-distanced workshops and discussions on climate action.

The timing of the Polish protest couldn’t be better. Just a couple of days later, there’s a vital committee vote on the Climate Law, so the protest will remind Polish MEPs that European citizens want them to back ambitious goals on climate change. Plus, it will help persuade politicians to spend COVID19 recovery money on green priorities.

Please give what you can to support climate campaigns and the activists taking the lead on climate action, in Poland, and throughout Europe:

Now, Polish climate activists need support from all over Europe to get their message covered in the media - where it will be impossible for politicians to ignore. They need the materials to make powerful banners, and resources to make sure television cameras are there to see the crowds at the march. None of it is expensive - but it can’t be done for free.

Can you help out, to give Polish climate activists the boost they need to win the campaign?

With hope,
David (London), Marta (Warsaw), and the entire WeMove Europe team
